For every game you ship from your list you get a credit which allows you to receive a new game from your list, and you only pay $4.99 for every game that you receive. Unlike some of those other sites, this prevents members from shipping all of their games at once and receiving nothing in return but useless points. provides its members with prepaid shipping envelopes which means you never pay shipping. Just put your games in the prepaid envelopes, drop them in the mail and wait for the new games to arrive.
To become a member, simply fill out the registration information on the registration page. To access the registration page click the link or the link on the homepage. Please input all of the required information on the registration page. Minors under the age of 18 must have the permission of a parent or guardian and must list this parent or guardian as a co-member on the account.
Once all of your information is inputed on the registration page your almost ready to begin trading.
To begin trading you must select games for your and lists. To select games for the list, search through the database of games and find the ones you own and are willing to trade. Click on the picture of the game to go to the game details page. Then click on the "have" link if you own the game and are willing to trade it. Once you have selected that you have the game, please select one of the three options that describe how you will ship the game. These options are used to match other members up with you and your games based on whether or not the games include instruction manuals and cases. For instance if your game will include a case and instruction manual, please select the option . This will then allow the system to match your game with other members who want this game with both the case and manual. Once you have made your selection click on the confirm game button and the game is added to your list.
You will also need to add games to your list. You can find the games you would like to receive from other members by searching through the database of games. When you have found a game that you would like to receive simply click on the picture of the game and you will be directed to the game details page. From here simply click on the "get" icon. You will then be asked to select how you would like to receive the game from other members. You can select any option that you will accept the game as. For example you can select that you would only accept the game with the case and
instructions by only clicking on that selection. However, if you would also accept just the game you would hold down the control button and select the other options or drag across all the options. You can definitely decide how you will accept a game, but the more options you choose the faster you will get a game.
Complete both of your lists and you are ready to trade.
Once your lists are completed www.gametraderdirect.com will match members base on their and lists.
Shipping using the system is simple and easy. Once you have filled out your list the system will find other members that would like your games. Shipping these members these games gives you credits which allow you to receive the games that you want. Once a game has been requested by another member you will be given a link in your account page asking if you approve or decline the shipment of the requested game. Approving this game lets the system know that it has found a match for the requested game. Once you have approved the shipment of the game you then are given a link for the receipiants address at the bottom of the page. You simply click this link in order to see the address of the receiving member. Write this address down on the prepaid shipping envelope provided by gametraderdirect.com. Change the link at the bottom of the page from pending to shipped, which lets the other member know the game is on its way, and drop the game in the mail. Once the game has been marked received you will be awarded your credit and can receive a game from another member.
Once the system has found another member that has a game that is on your list you will be asked if you would like to approve the game and have it sent to you, or if you would not like the game to be sent at this time. This allows members to select which games they will accept, although you should only put games on your list that you would like to receive. If you choose to accept a game, then the member shipping the game will be prompted to ship. That member will also have to approve the shipment. Once you have approved the game then your credit card will be charged the $4.99 fee plus tax. If you do not approve the game it will be taken off of your list. If you would like to receive it at another time simply add it back onto your list. If the member agreed to ship the game then at the bottom of your account page a link will come up showing the name of the game, the day it was agreed to be shipped and a feedback link. Wait until you receive the game, test it to make sure it plays and then provide the appropriate feedback. You should wait at least 15 buisness days from day of shipment before you mark a game as not received. If a game is received in good condition then it is moved into your list. Any game that you receive is yours to keep or trade again!
If the other member does not approve the shipment of the game, then your credit card is not charged and the game is returned to your list so that the system can find another member who is willing to trade the game.
